You've reached a good level of English — you can hold conversations, do your job in it, get your point across. But you can feel the ceiling: the same familiar vocabulary, grammar that's mostly right but sometimes "off," and the sense that you're not quite expressing yourself with the range and precision you have in your own language.
I help intermediate and advanced learners break through that plateau — building richer vocabulary you actually use, tightening the grammar that still trips you up, and developing the kind of natural, confident fluency that makes English feel like your own.
Why work with me?
Most English lessons stop at "correct." I care about "natural" — the difference between technically-right English and the way a fluent speaker actually chooses words, builds sentences, and carries a conversation. I've spent years helping advanced learners make that jump, and my lessons are built around one principle: you learn something and then immediately use it, in real conversation, until it's automatic. Passive knowledge you can't reach when you're speaking isn't much use — so we activate it.
Lessons are discussion-driven, personalized, and aimed at how you actually want to use English — at work, socially, or professionally.
What we work on:
Vocabulary activation Most learners have a large "passive" vocabulary — words they recognize but never actually say. We work on moving vocabulary from passive to active: not memorizing lists, but using new words in real conversation until they're part of how you speak. This is often the single biggest thing standing between "good" and "fluent."
Advanced grammar that sounds natural Not the basics you already know, but the finer points — the structures fluent speakers use without thinking, the ones that make writing and speech sound polished rather than merely correct. We work on them in context, through use, not through rules on a page.
Fluency and confidence The ability to speak smoothly without hunting for words or second-guessing yourself. Through lots of real conversation with targeted feedback, you build the comfort to say what you mean, at the speed you think it.
Precision and word choice The difference between a word that's close and the word that's exactly right. We work on the nuances — connotation, register, collocation — that let you say precisely what you mean instead of approximately what you mean.
Natural expression The idioms, phrasing, and rhythm that make English sound like yours rather than translated. We focus on how fluent speakers actually talk, so you sound natural, not textbook.
Real correction, in the flow I correct your mistakes as we talk — not to interrupt, but so you actually notice and fix the patterns that have become habits. Small, consistent correction in real conversation is how fluency gets built.
What my students say
"Jesse is the best English teacher I have ever had in my life. I tried to learn English many times, I spent a lot of hours on it, but it didn't work. We started from elementary level, now I have a B2 level after 1.5 years. I like the way he teaches!"
— Trofim
"This is the best learning experience I've ever had. I've been taking lessons with Jesse for over a year to improve my accent and learn advanced grammar and vocabulary, and I'm so happy with my progress. I never imagined I could learn so many fascinating and useful details about the English language."
— Jovana
"Jesse is an excellent teacher! Our lessons are always well-structured, tailored to my needs, and really interesting. He also works with me on my specific grammar gaps, helping me sound more natural and precise in my speech."
— Mark

About Lessons
Whether you want to expand your vocabulary, polish your grammar, or simply speak with more ease and confidence, I offer a structured, personalized plan built around your goals and how you actually want to use English.
Lessons are interactive and discussion-based. The focus is on speaking as much as possible, using the new vocabulary and grammar we're working on, so you're comfortable using it in the real world — not just recognizing it on a page. I'll give you targeted feedback as we talk, and provide materials and exercises to reinforce what we cover between lessons.
Most students take a mix of vocabulary, grammar, and fluency work, and I adjust the balance to what you need. If pronunciation and accent are also priorities, we can fold those in too — that's a specialty of mine, and many students work on both.
